Fursday Night at The Tech

Further Confusion is excited to offer a NEW Thursday evening kick-off event: exclusive after-hours access to The Tech and its interactive science exhibits! The Tech is a world class science and technology center located just across the street from our San Jose Convention Center home. You may have seen their iconic blue IMAX dome from your hotel room! Fursday Night at the Tech is an opportunity to relive the “school field trip” days, while also supporting our neighboring STEM educational center.

The Important Details

Attendance is limited to 450 guests for this first year - we will be evaluating feedback for future years to potentially expand to the full museum!
Benefactor level attendees: your admission is included!
Fursuits are welcome in the museum and in most exhibits* – there’s lots of photo opportunities here!
Water and beverages will be available for all, snacks will be available for purchase.

What’s there to do?

For this inaugural year, we will have access to the Lower Level of the museum. Here are a few of the exhibits you’ll encounter!

The Tech Interactive’s newest exhibit: a two-story kinetic art installation where imagination is set in motion and innovation happens by the second!

Solve for Earth

Our environment faces big problems. Luckily, Earth is home to brave and courageous problem-solvers like you! Solve for Earth will help you ask questions, take action and recharge hope.

Space Exploration

Experience exploration beyond our planet as you navigate weightlessness like an astronaut and see a model Mars rover.

Note: Performing the moving Jet Pack Chair activity requires peripheral vision and use of your hands on joysticks. We've been advised that fursuit heads and paws will need to be removed!

FAQ’s

Do I need my FurCon 2026 attendee badge to attend Fursday Night at The Tech?

Yes, to ensure that those in attendance are only with the convention. We will hand off a paper ticket at Registration to guests who have pre-purchased theirs online via ConCat.

Is The Tech accessible if I have mobility concerns?

Yes, The Tech has elevator access to all levels, and we will have ample seating available in the open space on the exhibit level. Some exhibits may require you to stand, transfer from a wheelchair, or require use of both hands. Exhibit staff will be available to assist you if needed.

Will there be a fursuit headless lounge available?

More information will be released about a fursuit lounge or heads-off space as we set up our furniture plan and arrange final details with The Tech.

Why only half the Tech Interactive space?

This is an exploratory event, we’re testing the waters! We are working to expand our offerings and branch out to take advantage of all that downtown San Jose offers. If this event is successful, there is room to grow it to fill more of the Tech!
